Shed Restoration and add on project...

sanpete contractor, mt. pleasant construction,

 BEFORE:

Shed Reconstruction Project.  Here are the details about bringing new life back to an old shed.

A homeowner had a shed on their property that was built approximately 70 years ago.  Obviously time and weather had taken its toll and there were multiple areas that needed attention.

The list of updates are as follows:

- reinforcing the structure with new collar ties throughout the rafters
- adding an awning to the North side of the shed
-gravel to level out before cement
-cement forms and rebar in prep for pour
- pouring concrete floors inside and out
- removing the old shingles, installing new roof deck and shingles to match the existing house
- adding a new overhead coiling door
-wasp war:  anytime you are dealing with an existing structure be sure to check for wasps in all nooks, crannies, and corners!  This little shed had more than you would think...pictures not included, but just know they gave chase!

It starts with structure.  We had to reinforce the current rafters with added
collar ties.  The owner wanted more head room, but didn't want to lose
the strength.

The old shingles were stripped off to make way for new roof deck
and shingles...

Next we built the awning...

Gravel time!  It's amazing how much gravel can be moved by two people, two shovels, and a wheel barrow!  Everything was evened out with gravel and reinforced with
rebar to prepare for cement!

CEMENT!

Cement pours are a family affair and take
all of us to pull it off!

It was a beautiful day to pour and we are always glad when a good pour looks great at the end of the day!

All finished it's totally usable and awesome!
